Your Pet is in the Best Hands with Our Elmhurst Veterinary Team
Lane Veterinary is so much more than a vet. In our hectic world, we want to make veterinary appointments feel less like an obligation and more like a visit with friends of the family. We are committed to giving you and your pet a wonderful experience, with Calm Care methods and warm, concierge-style service.
We're the opposite of a corporate veterinary practice. Dr. Baker and her team are here to guide, educate, and support you and your pet through all your years of life together. Get to know them before your first appointment, and call or text us at (630) 478-0222 if you have any questions!
Alex Weber Medical Director
Dr. Weber had a Golden Retriever named Maggie when she was growing up who was diagnosed with cancer. This was her first experience with animal care and learning how important it is to have someone you can trust and turn to for guidance. Maggie inspired Dr. Weber to become a veterinarian and be that person for others going through similar hard times. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in biology from Truman State University, she attended The Ohio State University for veterinary school and earned her DVM in 2015. She also received a certificate of completion for soft tissue imaging (abdominal ultrasound).
Her favorite thing about working at Lane Veterinary is the focus on Calm Care. Dr. Weber loves seeing animals that are normally scared or nervous at the clinic become outgoing and playful over time. She also enjoys developing relationships with her clients and coming up with medical plans that meet the needs of both pets and their families.
At home, Dr. Weber has 3 pets; 2 dogs named Teddy (Pit Bull) and Ginger (Parson Russell Mix), and a domestic shorthair cat named Lily. When she isn’t working or hanging with her pets, she enjoys running, hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Emily O’Reilly Veterinarian
Dr. Emily O’Reilly has always fostered an interest in human and animal medicine, but it wasn’t until a medical service trip to Nicaragua where she worked at a human clinic, animal clinic, and many farms that she solidified her decision to work with animals as a veterinarian. She greatly enjoys getting to know her clients and witnessing their unique bond with their pet. Dr. O’Reilly appreciates the positive attitude of the team at Lane Veterinary and is dedicated to helping families make individualized decisions for their pets, whether for general wellness or during times of illness and uncertainty. She has a special interest in pet hospice care and believes that, when done well, the experience can be very beautiful and peaceful.
Dr. O’Reilly and her husband Drew share a home with their son, Shea, and daughter, Elsie, and a senior dachshund named Tulip and a calico short haired cat named Basil. Outside of the office, she enjoys running and trying new restaurants and breweries with her family.
Amanda Sutton Veterinary Care Team Member
Amanda began her veterinary career as a client service representative at a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital, where she quickly developed a passion for veterinary medicine. She is currently pursuing her Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential through Purdue University and holds Calm Care and ProHeart certifications.
Animals have always been a constant in Amanda’s life. She grew up surrounded by pets at home, spent time on her family’s farms, and volunteered at a humane society. At Lane Veterinary, she values the combination of gold standard medicine and a Calm Care approach, along with the teamwork that connects every member of the practice.
Amanda enjoys providing quality care for patients while helping families feel confident in continuing treatment at home. She finds it especially rewarding to follow a patient’s progress from their first visit through recovery and to help anxious pets feel more comfortable in the clinic.
At home, Amanda shares life with Hazel, her Great Pyrenees mix, Bug, a 16-year-old calico, and Daisy, a 12-year-old tabby. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, fishing, thrifting, crafting, traveling, and volunteering.
Erika Martin, CVT Practice Manager, Veterinary Care Team Member
Erika has a background in graphic design and veterinary technology and always wanted to work with animals. In her spare time, she loves vegan cuisine and doing traditional crafts (that any 80-year-old would enjoy). She has 3 unique cats at home: June, Charlie Kelly, and Maybe.
Briana Ortiz, CVT Veterinary Care Team Member
Briana Ortiz joined our team after graduating from the Joliet Junior College Veterinary Medical Technology Program in 2024 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. She is also Calm Care Certified in Small Animal and Equine care, ensuring every patient feels as comfortable and stress-free as possible during their visit.
Briana’s passion for animals started at a young age and has only grown over the years. She shares her home with an adorable crew of pets, including three dogs (Elaine, Ashley, and Bella), two guinea pigs (Zoila and Ruqa), and a leopard gecko named Azra.
At the clinic, Briana loves being part of a team that values Calm Care practices. Her favorite part of her role is bonding with patients and building trust with them over time. For Briana, the most rewarding aspect of her job is working alongside a supportive and compassionate team.
Outside of work, Briana enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and making memories with her animals, family, and friends. She also volunteers weekly at a local shelter, helping care for dogs and cats in need.
Abby Meyer, CVT Veterinary Care Team Member
Abby loves being a mom to 3 children and a menagerie of animals, which includes a duck named French Fry, 11 chickens, and a Labradoodle named Effie.
